Inside TeaFit’s Quality Checks: What Happens When New Inventory Arrives

When a new inventory of TeaFit products arrives, there is a process that takes place before the team moves on to its next task. The products are checked, sachets are weighed, and the team comes together to taste and evaluate each flavour.

These checks are an important part of how we ensure premium tea premix quality for the products we sell. While the packaging and ingredients are what customers see first, there is also rigorous work that goes into evaluating the product itself whenever new inventory arrives.

Starting With a Random Sample

With every new inventory arrival, we randomly select four sachets from each flavour to check tea sachet weight accuracy. Each sachet is weighed twice: first with its packaging and then without it.

Looking at both measurements helps us account for the weight of the packaging and understand the net weight of the product inside. It is a straightforward step, but one that gives us a measurable point of reference when evaluating incoming inventory.

Every Flavour Gets a Taste Test

Weight is only one part of the process. We also bring the team together to taste-test the flavours to maintain strict batch consistency.

The team evaluates each product across several aspects, including taste, aroma, colour and appearance after preparation, texture, and how well it mixes. We also consider how the flavour compares with what we have experienced in previous batches of our quality-tested instant tea.

These details matter because evaluating a beverage involves more than simply tasting it. Its aroma, appearance, consistency, and mixing experience all contribute to how the product comes together in a cup.

Having the entire team participate also brings different observations into the process. Each person gets an opportunity to experience the flavour and share their feedback.

Putting Feedback Into Writing

After tasting, we record the team's feedback in writing. This allows us to capture observations about the flavour rather than relying entirely on what people remember from the tasting.

The feedback covers the characteristics we evaluate, helping us document what the team notices during the process. Comparing flavours with previous batches is also part of the assessment, making consistency an important consideration when reviewing incoming inventory.

When Something Needs Attention

Not every check is simply a step to complete and move past. If the team identifies an issue during the process, we contact the supplier.

This gives us a way to raise concerns about the incoming product and address them with the people responsible for supplying it. Identifying an issue is only part of the process; communicating it to the supplier is another important step.

The Work Behind Every Arrival

As TeaFit grows, the work involved in managing its products extends beyond preparing inventory and getting orders ready to dispatch. Each new inventory arrival gives us an opportunity to weigh, taste, evaluate, and document what we observe.

These checks may happen away from the customer's view, but they are part of the practical work involved in running a beverage business. For us, building TeaFit also means paying attention to these everyday processes, asking questions when something seems off, and taking the time to evaluate the products that make their way into our range.
