Why We Changed Our Delivery Partner

Why We Changed Our Delivery Partner

When a customer places an order with TeaFit, the experience doesn't end when they complete their payment. It continues while they wait for their products to arrive.

For us, that meant looking beyond whether an order reached its destination on time. We also had to think about what the customer experienced while waiting for it.

Our earlier delivery partner was generally delivering orders within the expected timelines. The challenge was not necessarily the delivery itself, but the communication around it. Customers did not always know when their order would arrive, making it difficult to plan for the delivery.

A customer might be away from home when the courier arrives, or might not know whether to expect the package that day. Even when a shipment is moving as planned, not having that information can create unnecessary uncertainty.

The Missing Piece Was Communication

We realised that a good delivery experience involves more than getting a package from one place to another. Customers should also have a reasonable idea of when to expect their order.

Knowing that a package is arriving that day helps customers plan around it. Being able to track a shipment gives them visibility into its journey and makes the waiting period less uncertain.

These may seem like small details, but they shape how customers experience an online purchase. After all, once an order leaves our warehouse, customers should not be left wondering when it will turn up.

Why We Switched to Blue Dart

This was an important reason behind our decision to move to Blue Dart.

The aim was to improve the communication customers receive during delivery, including notifications about an expected delivery day and access to shipment tracking. This gives customers a better idea of when their order might arrive and helps them plan to receive it.

It also helps reduce avoidable delivery complications. When customers have more information, they can make arrangements to be available, keep track of their shipment, and know what to expect next.

The change was not about dismissing the service we had before. It was about identifying something we could improve and taking steps to address it.

Improving the Experience Beyond the Product

At TeaFit, we spend a lot of time thinking about the products customers receive. But the experience surrounding those products matters too, from placing an order to opening the package at home.

Changing our delivery partner was one step towards making that experience more informed and predictable. It is a reminder that improving a business does not always mean making a dramatic change. Sometimes, it means paying attention to the smaller details that affect customers every day.

Because a good customer experience is not only about receiving the right product on time. It is also about knowing when it is coming.
