" Ask for forgiveness, don't ask for permissions." As a founder, its possible that you see something that others aren't able to see, or you want to question the fundamentals and try something that hasn't been tried before, or you are trying something that will make those around you uncomfortable - but if you see it clearly, you should go ahead and do it.
If you wait for everyone to come around, it will slow you down big time. This is specially true for women ( at the risk of generalising) because our decision making style is more consensus led and inclusive. While that is an excellent skill to have, it doesn't allow for truly ground breaking calls.
So be prepared to ruffle few feathers, take bold calls, make mistakes, publicly acknowledge them and move on.
