When people think about building a business, they often think about the products, the team, and the customers. But behind every product that reaches a customer, there are several other people whose work makes it possible. For TeaFit, our vendors have been an important part of that journey.
As a growing business, we are constantly developing products, refining packaging, and working out the details that help us deliver a better experience. Not everything is figured out from the beginning. Sometimes, we need to make changes, correct mistakes, or find a way to get things done when time is limited. Having vendors who are willing to work through these situations with us has made a real difference.
Getting the Travel Pack Right
When we first introduced the idea of our Travel Pack, we were still figuring out what the pouch should look like and which version would work best. There were several variations along the way as we worked towards the right design.
Our first batch consisted of around 100 pouches, but we soon discovered that approximately 30% of them were defective. For a growing business, this was not a small setback. Packaging is an important part of the product, and we needed to make sure the pouches met our quality expectations before moving forward.
We returned the defective pouches and continued working with our vendor to get things right. Since then, we have not encountered the same issue again.
What matters in situations like these is not just correcting a problem. It is having a working relationship where you can communicate what has gone wrong, make the necessary changes, and continue working together. Our vendor stayed with us through the early variations of the Travel Pack, even while we were still deciding on the final version.
That support was just as important after the initial development stage.
When Stock Runs Low, Support Matters
As TeaFit grows, stock planning becomes an important part of keeping products available. Our Travel Pack pouches take time to produce, which means running low on stock can create a challenge when demand picks up unexpectedly.
There have been occasions when we needed more pouches urgently. Our vendor understood the situation and made a special effort to get the stock ready much sooner than we would ordinarily expect.
This kind of support is difficult to capture in a purchase order or an invoice. It comes from understanding that the business on the other side is working towards a deadline, fulfilling customer orders, and trying to keep things moving. Instead of treating the request as just another order, our vendor understood the urgency and worked with us to meet it.
For a growing business, that willingness to make an extra effort can make a real difference.
The People Behind Every Print
Packaging involves much more than choosing a design and sending it for printing. There are multiple details to manage, and every product has its own information and requirements. With so many elements to coordinate, sometimes we realise that a print is missing or that something needs to be prepared at the last minute.
Our printing vendor has repeatedly helped us navigate these situations. Even when we send a last-minute requirement, they make an effort to have the prints ready by the next day.
Of course, planning ahead is important, and we continue to work towards making our processes smoother. But running a business does not always go exactly according to plan. There are unexpected requirements, details that need attention, and moments when a little flexibility from the people we work with helps us stay on track.
Knowing that we can reach out and explain what is needed, even when the request comes late, gives us one less thing to worry about during an already busy period.
Building a Business Takes People Who Believe in the Work
Our vendors are not part of TeaFit's team in the conventional sense, but their contribution is woven into the way we operate. From helping us improve the Travel Pack pouch to responding to urgent stock requirements and supporting our packaging needs, they have worked with us through different stages of our growth.
These relationships are built over time, through the everyday work of solving problems, adapting to changes, and finding ways to move forward together.
We know that building TeaFit is not something we do alone. Every product we develop and every order we fulfil depends on the efforts of people across the process. Our vendors have been among those people, and we are grateful for the patience, flexibility, and support they have shown us along the way.
As we continue to grow, we want to keep building relationships with people who care about the work as much as we do. Because a business may carry its own name on the packaging, but it takes many hands to bring that product to life.
