When a customer places an order with TeaFit, the experience doesn't end when they complete their payment. It continues while they wait for their online tea order delivery to arrive.
For us, that meant looking beyond whether an order reached its destination on time. We also had to think about what the customer experienced while waiting for their express dispatch package.
Our earlier courier partner was generally delivering orders within the expected timelines. The challenge was not necessarily the delivery itself, but the communication around order tracking and dispatch updates. Customers did not always know when their order would arrive, making it difficult to plan for the delivery.
A customer might be away from home when the courier arrives, or might not know whether to expect the package that day. Even when a shipment is moving as planned, not having real-time shipment tracking can create unnecessary uncertainty.
The Missing Piece Was Delivery Communication
We realised that a good online shopping delivery experience involves more than getting a package from one place to another. Customers ordering tea online should also have a reasonable idea of when to expect their shipment.
Knowing that a package is arriving that day helps customers plan around it. Being able to track an order online gives them visibility into its journey and makes the waiting period less uncertain.
These may seem like small details, but they shape how customers experience buying from an e-commerce beverage brand. After all, once an order leaves our warehouse, customers should not be left wondering when it will turn up.
Why We Switched to Blue Dart for Fast Shipping
This was an important reason behind our decision to move to Blue Dart for our express courier delivery across India.
The aim was to improve the delivery tracking notifications customers receive, including real-time SMS updates about an expected delivery day and access to reliable shipment tracking. This gives customers a better idea of when their order might arrive and helps them plan to receive it.
It also helps reduce avoidable delivery complications. When customers have clear tracking details, they can make arrangements to be available, keep track of their shipment, and know what to expect next.
The change was not about dismissing the service we had before. It was about identifying something we could improve in our online store customer experience and taking steps to address it.
Improving the Online Order Experience Beyond the Product
At TeaFit, we spend a lot of time thinking about the products customers receive. But the e-commerce fulfillment experience surrounding those products matters too, from placing an order to opening the package at home.
Changing our delivery partner was one step towards making reliable pan-India shipping more informed and predictable. It is a reminder that improving a business does not always mean making a dramatic change. Sometimes, it means paying attention to the smaller details that affect customers every day.
Because a good customer experience is not only about receiving your order on time. It is also about knowing when it is coming.
